Do you want to maybe make washing dishes more fun? I don’t know about you, but anything that I can crochet in bright colors puts a smile on my face. These colorful Kitchen Scrubbies will help make your kitchen a little brighter.

These are a quick and easy crochet project that you could whip up a half dozen of in no time flat.

About the Scrubby Yarn

I used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Scrub-Ology ‘Scrub it!’ yarn to make these kitchen scrubbies. It comes in many different bright and fun colors!

It’s 100% nylon and is a #5 bulky yarn. It works up quickly and is easy to work with. Thankfully, it’s not too scratchy, so it doesn’t bother my hands when I crochet with it. I was afraid that it might be too rough, but it’s not at all.

Besides, the way it’s made being a scrubby yarn, it has this little bit of shimmer to it that really adds to the finished look of the piece.

Special Crochet Stitch

To make these kitchen scrubbies, I used a special stitch that is twice as thick as regular single crochet. It’s called the ‘Thermal Stitch.’ If you have never crocheted the Thermal Stitch, then you will probably want to learn how. I have a complete video, picture & written tutorial HERE
